Background

Ken Ammann grew up in Spokane, Washington graduating from Gonzaga Prep High School and then worked his way through college at Washington State University, graduating Cum Laude in 1985 while employed in the farm, construction and restaurant industries. He graduated from Willamette University College of Law in 1988. Ken was named the International Academy of Trial Lawyers award recipient for Willamette University in 1988 and is admitted to practice in both state and federal court in Oregon. Ken has owned and operated several successful small businesses.

Community Involvement

Ken has been appointed to the Marion County Dispute Resolution Committee and served for 15 years as a volunteer working to implement and manage Marion County’s dispute resolution system. Ken was appointed as an Oregon State Bar committee member for the Marion-Polk-Yamhill tri-county Local Professional Responsibility Committee for 3 years, investigating ethics complaints against Oregon attorneys for the state bar association. Furthermore, he has served on the Medical-Legal committee in Marion County; volunteered as a mentor for law students in the Willamette College of Law student mentor program; and has been an active volunteer with the SMART (start making a reader today) program. In addition to volunteering his time, Ken also supports numerous charitable groups. He is the co-author of the Oregon State Bar’s Comprehensive General Liability Insurance Supplement continuing legal education publication and has been a featured speaker at legal and insurance professional organization events.

Ken was a structural firefighter certified as FF1 and a wildland firefighter with the state of Oregon and is a former member of the Sisters-Camp Sherman Fire District where he volunteered his time as a structural & wildland firefighter and EMS driver. Ken is a member of the Friends of Metolius and active in its River Trail maintenance program as well as a supporter of Soul River Inc. which works to help both veterans and inner city youth; the Pacific Crest Trail organization; and the Fly Fishing Collaborative which fights to end child sex trafficking.

Personal Interests

Ken is married and enjoys spending time outdoors and traveling with his wife. His love for the outdoors developed at a young age backpacking, fishing, cross-country skiing and motorcycling with his family while growing up in Spokane, Washington. He enjoys fly fishing, mountain bike riding, kayaking, motorcycling and a host of other outdoor pursuits.
